Chowna Mein launches Medical Oxygen Supply System at Waii International Hotel

Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein launched the Korean made Medical Oxygen Supply System(MOSS) at Waii International Hotel at Itanagar in Tuesday evening. The MOSS is a portable, lightweight oxygen generator especially designed for the hilly areas like Arunachal Pradesh by a South Korean based Multi-National Company launched in the North East for the first time.

In his speech, DCM urged the health care facilities in the state to ensure Medical Oxygen Supply System saying that it is vital to provide a safe and reliable supply of oxygen to the patients for life support and for medical treatment.

 Referring to the recent incident of a hospital in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh where it was reported in national media that about 30 infants died due to shortage of Oxygen supply in the hospital in August this year, he urged the medical practitioners and the doctors of the State to be cautious and prepared for any kind of exigencies in future.

He said that with ever growing population and day by day increasing health related issues, hospitals in the State both Govt and Private Hospitals has to be supported with adequate oxygen supply system and other facilities. He opined that Korean made MOSS can come handy and asked  the medical practitioners and the doctors to study and explore the feasibility of the MOSS in the State.

Sangkon Lee, Founder of NF. Co. Ltd., South Korea, Hayley Jeong, Business Development Manager for Overseas and Premal Patel, CEO, Calitech Bio technologies, the lone distributor in India explained the specifications and the advantage of the MOSS over the conventional oxygen supply system used in hospitals.

According to them the MOSS is eco-friendly, multi-utility can be continuously operated for 365 days without any charging and supply 90% highly purified oxygen. They said, compared to high-pressure liquid type, it will excel in economic because of its low maintenance cost and one time investment, convenience, safety and expansion.

They said it will bring innovative turning point in Medical Oxygen Supply System and expressed their willingness to supply and provide support to the Govt and Private Hospitals in the State.

Among others, Parliamentary Secretary, Lhaisam Simai, Chairman State Council for IT & Governance, Gabriel D Wangsu, MLA Paknga Bage, Chairman Hydro-power Development Corporation, Tungri Effa, Director North East region, Calitech Biotechnologies, Nido Marina, Director Health services, Moromor Lego, Sr Doctors and Medical Practitioners were also present.
