Determined to push and put in place the basic infrastructure which would open the gate of economic upliftment of Arunachal Pradesh, the State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday has decided to impress upon the Ministry of Civil Aviation, GOI to expeditiously complete the Hollongi Greenfield Airport at the earliest before the deadline of 42 months set by the AAI.
It may be mentioned that the decades-old dream of having an airport in the State Capital could be realised through a consistent effort by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his Team Arunachal members who significantly reduced the relief and rehabilitation cost and also finalised the permanent site and convinced the centre for sanctioning the dream project.

The Airport once built will see landing of A-320 series aircraft, which will also have cargo facilities.
The Cabinet decided to request the Ministry of Civil Aviation, GOI to constitute a Project Monitoring Committee under the Chairmanship of Union Secretary of Civil Aviation with Chief Secretary, Government of Arunachal Pradesh as one of the members among others in order to ensure time to time monitoring of the project so that it is completed before the scheduled deadline and bring prosperity to Arunachal Pradesh.
