Condemning the recent extortion attempt to Director, Audit & Pension, at his office chamber on 22 May last, the Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (COSAAP) on Tuesday has took out a protest rally from Akashdeep to Tennis ground IG Park and Kankar Nalah ground to Rajiv Gandhi Stadium Naharlagun.
Holding placards and banner in their hands ‘Culprit should be punished, Stop atrocities and No intimidation against the government employee by anti social elements’, COSAAP further demand state government to provide security services to the entire directors of the government employees so that such atrocities and extortion may not occurs.

“Criminal is criminal they should be dealt with stringent action” said president COSAAP Pate Marik, adding that those arrest person should not be grant any bail till the punishment is not come to an end.
Leading the rally at Naharlagun from Kankar Nalah to Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Secretary General (CoSAAP) Gonya Riba, appealed entire government employees irrespective of department to stand unite to fight against any kind of extortion and atrocities.

Informing that 99 percent of extortions case to government employees remain un- reported to police station which indirectly encouraging culprits, Riba also said, “It is time to report every incident to the law keepers for timely action,”
Later on appreciating the capital police for prompt action and apprehending criminals in a very short period, COSAAP acknowledged the capital administration for banning the carrying elements such as firearms within the capital complex.
In his deliberation to the gatherers at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, while extending his heartfelt thanks to capital police, administration and executive members of CoSAAP, and all the government employees for their support, victim Md. Abdul Basit, exhorted the employees to remain United and not to fear with criminals.

“Until and unless we won’t fight back they will continue to disturb us, so, instead of overlooking the incidents, we should resist and report to the police as and when they approach,” added Abdul
The rally which was held at Itanagar shows a few numbers of participants but the same rally which was held at Naharlagun was participated by at least two hundred of supporters from various departments.
