59th All India Railway Basket Ball (Men) Championship

The 59th All India Railway Basketball Championship begins at Northeast Frontier Railway Indoor Stadium, Maligaon from today. Ratan Lal, Additional General Manager, N. F. Railway who was the chief Guest of the event inaugurated the Championship in presence of large number of players, Railway officials and spectators. Altogether 21 teams from the Zonal Railway and production units of the country participated in the championship.
In the first match of the championship Northeast Frontier Railway beat West Central Railway by 75-36, Diesel Locomotive Workshop (Varanasi) beat South East Central Railway by 56-40, Western Railway beat Railway Board by 42-24, Railway Coach Factory (Kapurthala) beat East Central Railway by 67-42 and Central Railway Beat Eastern Railway 75-60.
