Kiren Rijiju, Chowna Mein participates in Mega Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Karsingsa

On the occasion of 148th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju and the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein participated in a Mega Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Karsingsa today.
Speaking on the occasion, Rijiju said that the strength of Arunachal Pradesh lies in the unity in diversity. He called upon the people to unite and work together for the common cause, that is the peace, progress and development of the State. He said that we should not allow cheap politics to weaken our strength and discourage playing politics in the name of community and religion. He asserted that he is doing every possible efforts to highlights the cause of the State in the Parliament and in the eyes of the Union Govt. He stated that no stone will be leave unturned to pursue the matter of state’s interest in the centre and informed that there is not a single scheme pending with the Union Govt that was proposed by the State Govt at present.
He stated that under his initiatives North East Police Cell were opened in every State Capital to ensure the protection and safety of the North Eastern people studying and working in other States of the country. He also informed that the North East people working in Delhi police were very negligible before but within the last two years, 433 NE youths were recruited in the Delhi Police through direct recruitment.
He lauded the State Govt headed by the Chief Minister Pema Khandu in its efforts to ensure rapid implementation of developmental works in the state by conducting monthly review meeting with the ministers and departments, strict monitoring of the schemes implementation and the steps taken to check corruption in the State.
Citing the bountiful blessings of the Mother Nature to Arunachal Pradesh, he appealed to the people to make Arunachal Pradesh one of the best destinations for tourists by maintaining peace, brotherhood and keeping it clean and green.
Responding to the memorandum submitted by the Organizing Committee, Rijiju assured that he will pursue for the immediate sanctioning of the remaining Package – B & C of Four-laning of NH-415 from Pappu-Nallah to Banderdewa within this financial year. He also assured to look into construction of Indoor Stadium cum Multi-purpose community hall at Karsingsa, link road from NH-415 to Anya Colony-II and to initiate the process for setting up of Fire Station at Banderdewa Circle.
Mein in his speech appealed to the people to adopt the virtues of Mahatma Gandhi and follow the path of peace, truth and non-violence. He said that the sweeping in the name of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan should not be taken symbolically but called upon the people to inculcate civic sense and make cleanliness a daily routine and urged them to keep the pledge to Clean India in earnest and with conviction and to take in a mission mode.  He also added that cleanliness is very pertinent in tourism point of view to create a hygienic and ambient atmosphere for the tourists.
He informed that the Govt of India aim to make India open defecation free by the year 2019 and the State Govt has resolved to achieve this objective a year ahead that is by the end of 2018 itself. He also highlighted the various measures taken up the State Govt to improve the quality of education in the State. He also assured to look into the memorandum submitted by the Organizing Committee and to take up the matter with the Chief Minister.
Minister of UD & Town Planning, Nabam Rebia who was also the Chief Patron of the programme said that Karsingsa is a mini-India wherein many communities are residing together peacefully and in perfect harmony. He added that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has become a full fledged mass movement to create a clean India. He informed that the motto of the programme was to take the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to the village level.
On the occasion, Taniang Kipa ASM cum Chairman, Organizing Committee submitted a 10 point memorandum to the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Tana Hali Tara, President of Papumpare District BJP Unit also spoke on the occasion.
Among others, Tapir Gao, State BJP President, Prince Dhawan, DC Caiptal, Tai Kaye, DC Papumpare and Dr Navdeep S Brar, SP Capital were also present.
The dignitaries also planted forest saplings in the campus of Govt Middle School, Karsingsa and participated in the cleanliness drive.
Earlier in the morning, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju and Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein pay homage and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Park, Niti Vihar in Itanagar. They also gave away meritorious certificate to the sincere and hard working staffs of the Itanagar Municipal Council on the occasion.
