Arunachal: 1st state level basketball tournament begins

1st ever state level Basket ball tournament inaugurated here today at Don Bosco School,  Jullang by Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) President Techi Abraham.

Ten district are taking part with a total of One Hundred Forty participant, coach and team manager. The  final match will be played on January 9.

Addressing as chief guest AOA President Techi Abraham in his address said that it is good to know that many meritorious sportsperson have been employed by the state government  who are  playing for state.

He said that everything can be achieved if there is hard work, sincerity, devotion and dedication and one can reached to a destination if he/she become a good sportsperson.

He also lauded the APBA for organising the event and appeal them for improving the basketball in state. He assure his full support for promotion of basket ball in state.

Arunachal Pradesh Basketball Association (APBA) is organising the event with great enthusiasm and fun as the game was witness by large numbers of youths of the capital complex.

He also motivated the participants to become a good player and a good human being to serve the society and bring laurel for family, community, district and state through sports.

Guest of Honour AOA Joint Secretary Ligo Taju appreciated the APBA and appeal them to continue. He also appeal the participants to maintain the sportsmanship spirit while playing the game.

APBA President Donyi Ori while said that is a challenging task to organising the state level event first time without any support from any sources.

He however thanks the organisation members for full support and cooperation and appal the government and sports Authority of Arunachal for extending support for successful completion and even in future for promotion of basketball in state.

Tourism Deputy Director Gedo Ori, Don Bosco School Director Cyprian K among other were present on the occasion.

The 1st match was played between Papum Pare and Kra Daadi which was won by Papum Pare with a score of 25/23 goal while total 4 matches were played during the day.
