Itanagar: Statue of Risso Tari unveiled near Tennis court

 Two minute silence was observed in mark of respect for the departed soul for rest in peace in heavenly abode.

A statue of Late Risso Tari at Tennis court campus has been unveiled today in presence of family members, relatives members of Risso Welfare Society (RWS). On this occasion RWS  have demanded justice for Late Risso Tari who died during Anti PRC movement in state capital on March 22′ 2019.

Addressing the unveiling ceremony of statue of Late Risso Tari at IG Park near Tennis court campus, Chairman of NEFA indigenous Human Right organisation, Domin Loya said that three youths of state died while several injured during the anti PRC movement on February 22 last was a history and cannot be forgotten.

These youths alongwith thousands of indigenous people of state have fight against the proposed plan of the state government to bring the PRC issue to the assembly. The democratic movement sacrifice of three youths is a testimony for the state government that they may not bring up the issue again which is against the interest of the indigenous people of state, said Domin.

Domin said that ” unlike PRC the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) is also against the interest of the indigenous people of state and region and we will not except such action of the government.

The shoot-out  incident which took place during the democratic movement is a violation of human right  and said that justice should be delivered to the victim family and assured his support during the movement if the government fail to fulfill the demand put forward to the state government.

He further appeal the students organization should also take up the issue for demand of justice for the victim family as these youths have laid down their life for the indigenous movement of state. Loya added.

Risso Welfare Society (RWS) President Risso Taju while said that ” we have already placed our demand but no action on the part of state government is seen till today.  RWS have already submitted five point memorandum to the Governor, Taju informed the gathering er.

Taju appeal the state government to short out the issue or else we may be compel to re-start our movement which was halted due to imposition of model code of conduct for simultaneous election in state.

Relative of Late Tari, Khoda Ajin also address the gathering. Two minute silence was observed in mark of respect for the departed soul for rest in peace in heavenly abode.
