All India Radio and DDK organises Blood Donation Camp

All India Radio Itanagar and DDK Itanagar have jointly organised a Blood Donation Camp at the office premises of AIR Itanagar on 17th November 2017 commemorating 20th Anniversary of Prasar Bharari the Apex Body Akashvani & Doordarshan.
The medical support was given by Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) under aegis of State Blood Transfusion Council(SBTC). Donors comprised of staff and contractual assignees of AIR Itanagar and DDK Itanagar, and also joined by organisers of Arunachal Idol and a few well wishers from the town. In fact this was a Pan-India programme declared by the Board of Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) to undertake an important social work such as Blood Donation to send across a message that Prasar Bharati is at the service of people.
K.Morang, Director(E) DDK Itanagar congratulated the staff of AIR Itanagar and DDK Itanagar for organising the Camp successfully and expressed his feeling of contentment in donating blood for some one in need. S.Koul, AE, AIR Itanagar said that he feels proud to have donated blood several times in his life because he knows that when one gives blood it not only saves life and gives a sense of satisfaction to the donor but also helps our body to regenerate new blood cells and it is good for ones health.
J.B. Nabam the Head of Programme, AIR Itanagar expressed his satisfaction in organising the first ever Blood Donation Camp by AIR Itanagar in a successful manner. He expressed his gratitude to DDK Itanagar for taking part actively in organising the camp. He also expressed his gratitude to the Medical team of TRIHMS lead by Dr.P.Sona, MD Pathology for conducting the camp very smoothly and efficiently.
Dr.P.Sona too expressed her gratitude to AIR & DDK for sparing some time amidst their busy routine work to organise a programme for social cause . She clarified that there is no any threat to ones health if one donates blood as enough precautions are taken before blood is taken from a person and in fact it’s a healthy practice as human body keeps on generating fresh blood and if one gives his extra blood to someone in need one will lose nothing but the person who receives will have life. Giving blood means saving life.
In total of 43 people volunteered out of which 22 units were collected. The TRIHMS authority gave certificate of appreciation to all the donors.
