Arunachal Governor asks Graduate students, Pay back to the society, while addressing the XVIth RGU Convocation.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra graced the XVIth Convocation of Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh, in the university campus on Friday.
Congratulating the graduating students, the Governor urged upon them to contribute towards Nation Building. He said that the society has enabled them to pursue and earn the academic degree and now it is their turn to pay back to the society. He advised them to work hard, be focused and sacrifice for higher good of the society and the Nation. In every action, initiative and step, ensure honesty, integrity, transparency, accountability, audit and mid course correction, the Governor underscored.
The Governor also suggested to the passing out students to work on the challenges of the society, which included fight the drug abuse, oppose and thwart insurgency, stop the beguiled youth from joining the unlawful acts, promote child education, especially the girl child education, promote Swachhta Abhiyan, contribute towards the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation and preserve, protect and promote the environment.
Addressing the students of the University, who are continuing their studies, the Governor advised them to study hard, set goal and earn knowledge. He said that Life is all about mental development and physical fitness, therefore, the students must devote themselves to their studies and take active part in games, sports and extra curriculum activities.
The Governor encouraged the students to be mission oriented and be self disciplined, respect your teachers and pursue knowledge.
In his address, the Governor exhorted the members of the faculty to be friend, philosopher, guide and coach for the students. He said that by shaping the students, the teachers are shaping the future of the society, State and the Nation.
The Governor, who is the Chief Rector of the Rajiv Gandhi University emphasised on making the academic ambience of the University vibrant and all conducive. He said that the University is a shrine of knowledge, temple for study, home for leaning and place for personality development. To make the Campus academically conducive, there must be timely and cent percent admission. cent percent class attendance of both teachers and students, fearless Campus Environment, the sanctity of hostels must be protected at all cost and the hostel atmosphere should be disciplined and supportive to good studies, examination must be conducted on time and the result must be declared on time.
The Governor stressed that the institution must religiously implement its examination calendar. Delay in holding of examinations is tantamount to derailing of career prospects in the work field for the serious students. Any delay in this regard may cost the student loss of a year of hard work, in the periodic competitive examinations and further higher studies, he pointed.
Impressed by the high number of girl students amongst the PH.D degree awardees and gold medallists (Toppers of respective courses), the Governor expressed his happiness and said that the society, where girls excel in academics is certainly on the path of progress.
Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi Prof. Nageshwar Rao, delivered the Convocation Address.
