Arunachal Pradesh Police celebrates its 45th Raising Day

Arunachal Pradesh Police celebrated its 45th Raising Day on 8th November at PTC Banderdewa. Home Minister Kumar Wai graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior officers from Civil Administration and Police graced the occasion with their presence.

 Addressing the gathering on the occasion Kumar Wai while appreciating the role of police, said that peace is very essential for development in any state.

He called upon the Arunachal Pradesh Police to be professional and deal with criminals or any elements attempting to disrupt peace with an iron hand as per law.

He assured the Govt. full support to strengthen the police department besides keeping in mind the welfare of its personnel.

He mentioned about the various measures taken for the welfare of the police force by the govt. during the last year viz. creation of 670 nos. of posts of various ranks, enhancement of Ration Money from Rs. 300/- per month to Rs. 1000/- per month, revision of ex-gratia payment scheme for those personnel who lay down their life in the course of duty, enhancement in budgetary allocation, focus on police housing etc.

He also promised providing special winter Jackets of uniform design for the police personnel. He also called upon the police department to promote sports activities and suggested to hold an annual police sports meet.

Earlier, DGP in his welcome address gave a brief history about Arunachal Pradesh Police. He said APP had a humble beginning with handful of police officers brought on deputation in the year 1972 and now has expanded to three (3) ranges with 22 districts police and more than 14000 police personnel.

On the day, Chief Guest awarded the CM’s trophy Football, Home Minister’s Volleyball and Director General of Police trophy for Best Marching contingent. Apart from these, winners of essay competition, 10 Km “Crime free Arunachal” run were also given prizes and medals by the Chief Guest.

A smart march past, band display by VKV students, Silent Drill by STF Commandos, Mega dance by police women, Commando Cordon & Search drill & fire fighters display were other major highlights of the day.
