Arunachal : Governor advocates more recruitment of local youths in the Indian Army

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Rtd.) while interacting with the All India Radio and Door Darshan on Monday said that Arunachal Pradesh is strategically  located and shares international boundary with Bhutan, China and Myanmar.

Recalling the 1962 Chinese Aggression when China attacked India without any provocation, wherein he fought to defend our motherland, the Governor said that the wounds of that war are still fresh in his memory.

To prevent recurrence of such disaster the Central Govt. is taking bold and determined measures which can be seen in the instance of Doklam where the attempt of the Chinese incursion was foiled with grit and determination by the Indian Army.

To strengthen and to make the army more effective, we need home grown soldiers who are well acquainted with the people and topography of the area and will be an asset to the armed forces. His Excellency believes that our home grown soldier standing shoulder to shoulder with Indian Army Jawan is equal to eleven soldiers.

The Governor said that “Recruitment of our youth in the Indian Army will provide job opportunity as also will act as catalyst for deeper national integration. The home grown soldiers can be trendsetters to the other youth who will become the worthy citizen of the nation”.

The governor  , therefore, advised all parents, PRIs, GBs, Public leaders to motivate local youth to join Indian Army. The Governor informed that large number of vacancies in various  army groups  will be made available by the Indian Army to the youth of Arunachal Pradesh. The youth have the potential to be selected in the Army and they should actualise it.

The Chief Minister  and the Team Arunachal are putting in dedicated effort to enable the youths to join the Indian Army. Our joint endeavour is to send 2000 youth from Arunachal Pradesh  in the Indian Army. His Excellency informed that the Army will be conducting the next Recruitment Rally at Jairampur form 10th May to 13th May, 2018. Pre recruitment Training will be conducted by the Indian Army personnel in ten district HQs, for written test for those youths who could not qualify in the previous Army Recruitment drive.

The Governor,  informed that the state Govt. has identified ten district HQs, namely, 1. Bomdila – to cater to the candidates from Tawang and West Kameng Districts, 2-Seppa for  East Kameng, 3-Daporijo for Upper Subansiri and Kamle districts, 4 – Capital Complex Itanagar, for Itanagar, Kurung Kumey, Kra Dadi, Papum Pare and Lower Subansiri, 5-Likhabali for West Siang and Lower Siang districts, 6- Pasighat for  East Siang, Siang and Upper Siang districts,7-Roing for Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts, 8-Tezu for Lohit and Anjaw districts, 9-Namsai for Namsai and Changlang districts and 10 – Longding will cater to the candidates of Longding and Tirap districts. The candidates will be given all possible  support  for the  Army Pre recruitment by the Indian Army and District Administration.

Through Video Conferencing with the DCs and their link officers, the Governor appreciated the good work of the Deputy Commissioners of the Districts. He directed them to put in extra effort to execute the developmental programmes so that the benefits of the plans are reaped by the poor and needy people. He further added that policing should be strengthened and the security of the society especially the girl and women should be ensured. Peace, law and order should be maintained rigorously. Ultras and anti-social elements should be given zero tolerance. Realistic reports of drugs and opium control should be done, so that these can be controlled in an effective way. All out effort for the success of the Swacch Bharat Mission  should be made  for its success, the Governor exhorted.
