The All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) today declared a 12-hour bandh in entire Kra Daadi district on 20 December in support of their various demands.
The union has been demanding the state government for making the Government Degree College in Palin functional at the earliest, immediate establishment of a district hospital in Palin, at least two ambulances and a mortuary van for Tali and Palin, allocation of funds for additional classrooms, toilets, auditorium, and boundary fencing for the government secondary school Tali and the government higher secondary school Palin, and construction of a road to Tali.
Addressing a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club here, AKDDSU president Gora Rikam informed that the union has submitted these demands to the Chief Minister’s Office on October 30, of this year. but the members feels that their memorandum dumped in a corner.
Claiming that the district has been deprived of several developmental activities since its creation, Rikam said, “Develop the underdeveloped areas first, before creating new districts and making public announcements assuring new districts.”
AKDDSU president added that union also supports the APPDSU over the latter’s demand for deleting Chakma and Hajong names from the electoral rolls.
