Arunachal: JDU demands re-poll at Sangram polling station

JDU demanded re poll at Sangram polling station, while appeal to EC to reject INC demand for re poll at Rakso .

Janata Dal (united) candidate for 18 Palin Assembly constituency of Kra Daadi district appeal the district election officer, chief election officer and election commission of India to reject the demand of INC candidate for again  re-poll at 18/38 Rakso polling station where re-poll was held on April 27 peacefully without any incident, but he demanded re-poll   at 18/4 Sangram polling station where the election process was not in order and proper.

Addressing the media at Arunachal press club (APC) here today Janata Dal (United) candidate for 18 Palin assembly constituency Byabang Taj said that neither he nor his supporters  involved in violence activities at Rakso polling station.

Referring to the re-polling for Rakso it was the miscreants who snatched away the EVM at Meer in Yangte circle on its way when the magistrate on its way to DEO office Koloriang which was damaged and termed its as a failure on the parts of administration and sector magistrate who let the miscreants snatched away the only EVM selectively of Rakso polling station.

Taj said that the polling was held on April 11 very peacefully, even the polling was peaceful on April 27 without any incident but those who were shouting on way to polling station of mostly have already cast their vote through postal ballot and many have cast their vote in other polling station either at Itanagar or other polling station but they wanted for double voting on the day of re-poll at Rakso who were prevented by the villagers and not allowed.

He informed that around 38 voters of Rakso polling station have casted their vote through postal ballot and many of them were also there who were trying to vote at Rakso  on April 27, so that the demand for re-poll is of no meaning. But we are waiting for scrutiny at DEO and we will abide by the rule of law. Taj said.

We have already submitted representation to ECI for dismissal of candidature of congress candidate Takam Pario where there are lots of complaint against him and even violation of Model Code of conduct like giving  of money to buy voter of which complain have already been submitted.

Demanding re poll at 4 Sangram polling station and said that his election agent and poling agent of JD(U)was not allowed in the polling station on re-polling day of April 27 and the voting was completed within an hour which  can be seen in  CCTV footage, Taj suspected that everything were not in proper and in order so re-polling is needed.

Earlier on Friday May 3 under the banner of Deprived voters of Rakso Polling station submitted a memorandum to Chief election officer (CEO) Itanagar and claimed that more than one hundred sixty five voters of 38 Rakso polling station have been deprived of their voting right and demanded fresh poll in Rakso polling station.

They also accused the polling officer, sector magistrate and other senior officer present there for turning the blind eye to the violence which tok place at Rakso on both days.
