Denizens of capital complex appeal the state government, Capital district administration and concern construction agencies to complete the construction of four numbers of bridge and culvert in the capital complex as soon as possible. Once these construction will completed the traffic jam on the National Highway-415 will reduced.
The state government have approved for construction of a huge culvert at ESS Sector arterial road which connect Raj Bhawan to Ganga Market via Circuit House, DDK and SP Capital office but yet to start the work, tender process is still not completed and people urge upon the PWD Capital Division B to complete the process and start the work on war.
The construction of another bridge by PWD between F & G Sector/Ganga Market and Division IV is also delayed. Thousand of commuters of several sector and colony of Senki View, Senki Park and Division IV have to take the route Via Abo-Tani colony and create huge traffic jam on Abo-Tani –Niti Vihar road daily.
The capital DC have already directed the PWD officials to take up the construction work on a war footing manner and complete it before the onset of monsoon. But is a matter of great concern that the work could not complete within given stipulated time to public as local observed.
The third one is a steel bridge over the Pachin river at Borum, near the Naharlagun helipad, also gets delay is causing much trouble to the citizens of the Capital Complex. Though the foundation stone for the bridge was laid way back in 2016, the actual work started only in May 2017, and since then it is progressing at a snail’s pace.
Once completed, the bridge will provide alternative connectivity to motorists travelling towards Lekhi, Nirjuli and Banderdewa as they will be able to avoid the crowded NH 415 in Naharlagun.
Initially, it was sanctioned for a single-lane steel bridge. The PWD’s Naharlagun division floated the tender in January 2017, and the whole process was completed by March, and the work started in the month of May 2017. The work was further delayed due to reported washing away of construction materials in a flashflood in the Pachin river. The project was also reportedly delayed due to change in design from single lane to double lane and the width of the bridge was increased from 4.05 meter to 7.5 meter.
The fourth one is a RCC bridge which is under construction by the Railway authority in Naharlagun township between NH-415 and TAH connecting Model Village with Borum will also reduced the traffic jam in the Naharlaugn township, once it’s constructed.
The main purpose is to provide direct link to the Naharlagun railway station so that traffic can be reduced on NH-415. At present all the passenger have to take the NH road via Naharlaugn township and create huge traffic jam even in morning and evening.
