Itanagar: ICCW-AP organised Legal awareness on mother and child right

A day long legal awareness on mother and child right organized by Indian council for child welfare Arunachal Pradesh state unit (ICCW-AP) in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh state commission for Women (APSCW), Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Service Authority (APSLSA) and Human Right Law Network (HRLN), Itanagar was concluded today here at golden jubilee state banquet hall.
Several issue related with women and child right, local customary law, traditional habits, sexual abuse and perspective, maternal health concern, tobacco and drug addiction, child foundation, education and creativity topic were in the discussion by various speakers who were resource person of the day.
Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi in her address said that there have been several discussion on various issue confronting among the women and children’s including the right and reservation.
She emphasis on the shouldering of responsibility by several stake holders responsible for protection of right and privilege for women and children. She urge upon the state government for providing of independent protection officer in the district, creation of separate cell for women inmate in various police station of state. Equal opportunity in admission in Sange laden sports academy for girls students. Women reservation in government job.
She said that the team of APSCW has meet CM, CS and other top ranking officer and have apprise several problems which need to be addressed.
She said that there is a need of wide range of discussion by various NGO and CBOs in view of land right for the widow and right of women.
APSCW are very active in creating awareness and legal awareness programme across the state, this year we have proposed around 30 numbers of legal awareness programme which will benefit thousand of women and children in regards to their rights etc.
Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Service Authority (APSLSA) Member Secretary Budi Habung inform that it is our duty and responsibility to create mass awareness among the large section of the society with regards to several right of people. We have been tried our best to give legal services to the needy. APSLSA is mandated to provide awareness in all subject and all section of society for social cause and legal entitlement to the needy people.
We should contribute for development of society and state for peace, harmony and prosperity while maintaining all section of law for the better society.
ICCW-AP Executive Member cum Advisor Jarjum Ete, Oju Welfare Association (OWA) Chairperson Anya Ratan, THIHMS senior faculty Dr. Goter Doke, Dr. Sam Tsering, DIET faculty Bai Lombi among other also spoke on various issue of women and children and drug addiction etc.
Prizes were also distributed among the children who won the drawing and painting competition programme organized by the organizers.
Several eminent personalities from Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society, NGO, CBOs and other social welfare organization associated and working in the field of women and child development and protection of right of women and children were present on the occasion including school children from various schools of capital complex.
