Itanagar: Chowna Mein inaugurates SBI’s Branch in the State Civil Secretariat
In his inaugural speech, Mein congratulated the State Bank of India for opening it’s 60th branch in the State.

Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein inaugurated State Bank of India’s ( SBI’s ) Civil Secretariat Branch in the 1st Floor, 4th Block of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat Building here in Itanagar today.
In his inaugural speech, Mein congratulated the State Bank of India for opening it’s 60th branch in the State. He also thanked SBI for opening a branch in the State Civil Secretariat which would cater to banking needs of around 1500 Govt Employees serving in the Civil Secretariat saying that it will save their precious time as they need not to go out of the Secretariat premises during day time for banking from now onwards.
Lauding the SBI for providing the much needed banking service in every nook and corner of this hilly State for the last many decades, he requested the Chief General Manager of SBI for North Eastern States to further expand its branches in rural and remote areas of the State and set up ATMs and Customer Service Points wherever needed.
He also asked them to provide financial assistance to the educated youths of the State in order to encourage them to take up enterprising business especially in Credit-linked Schemes of the Govt like Swalambhan, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Yojana, etc. He also asked them to improve C:D ratio and assured all support of the Govt to the Bank.
Mein also made the first transaction in the branch by withdrawing cash from his account.
On the occasion, Chief General Manager of SBI for North East, Sunil Kumar Tandon also spoke. He thanked the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh for extending all its support and for providing a space for the establishment of the Bank in the hub of the capital city. He requested the employees working in the State Civil Secretariat to avail the services of the branch and to take the help of their officials in matters related to banking.
Among others, Former APPSC Chairman, Nabam Atum, Commissioners, Secretaries, and Officials of SBI and the State Civil Secretariat attended the program.
