All SHGs must work toward betterment of society in their respective villages, said Addl. Dy. Commissioner, Hage Lailang, during the inauguration of Village Organization (VO) office on Monday for the proper functioning of Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Borguli village under Mebo Sub-Division.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest Hage Lailang praised the efforts of the village Self Help Groups of Borguli village and urged them to work more toward betterment and welfare of the village and the society while taking the help and assistance from the concern Ministry and also from the link department.
Lailang also advised the SHGs women to work on helping the administration and police in curbing out drug addiction among the youths and other social menace like illegal gambling.
The VO office inauguration programme was held under the supervision of Togeng Pertin, Block Mission Manager which is sponsored and funded by Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM) through National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) under Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
As per Block Mission Manager, Togeng Pertin, the Mebo CD Block have recorded total numbers of 119 SHGs in which 1224 women have registered and each SHGs are provided financial assistance of minimum Rs. 15,000/- in the beginning and are paid or assisted more beyond Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakhs) based on their grading and performances under Revolving Funds and Community Investment Funds etc. The prime objectives of the NRLM are to promote SHGs, women empowerment, poverty elevation and livelihood promotion etc.
The VO office inauguration was also attended by CO Mebo, Kabang Apum, CDPO Mebo, Mailong Taku Moyong, BDO Mebo, Inty Remi Ering. They also spoke on the occasion and laid emphasis on more proactive role to be played the village womenfolk. Village leaders, GBs also attended and spoke on the occasion.
