Puls Polio drive day-1: 77801 children vaccinated in Arunachal Pradesh
In 2905 booths setup for Puls Polio vaccination drive a total 77801 children have been vaccinated with OPV.

Along with rest of the country Arunachal Pradesh today conducted the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) across the state under the Department of Health and Family Welfare. The programme aimed at administering two drops of oral polio vaccine (OPV) to all children under 5 years of age.
It is an intensive three day activity and the Day 1 have been carried out today in 2905 booths with great enthusiasm both from the Department and community level. Total 77801 children have been vaccinated with OPV.
The state have achieved 52 % out of 15295 target children at booth as per available data. Reports from many of the areas are also awaited due to connectivity challenge.
The team members across the state have dedicatedly served their job responsibilities vaccinating hundreds of children throughout the day, despite many challenges. Special mobile and transit teams were deployed in multiple areas to cover the high risk areas and transit areas respectively.
The team members will continue the activity with same motivation level for two more days through house to house approach, wherein all children who are left out during the booth day will be administered Polio vaccine.
The state is expected to reach at least more than 95% of the target in days ahead. Coordination from other department lead an impact in social mobilization. Miking about the activity continued in various locations to keep parents well informed about getting their child immunized with Polio vaccine.
State and district level monitors and monitors from WHO have also been monitoring intensively throughout the day to ensure the quality implementation. Taking the opportunity, the team members also encouraged the parents to also continue the routine immunization vaccines as per schedule from the hospitals.
