Miscreants attack two APST buses in Assam

two APST long distances buses plying from Itanagar and Pasighat to Shillong in Megalaya were attacked in Sonitpur and Biswanath district of Assam on October 18 and October 19 respectively.

Miscreants attack two Arunachal Pradesh Transport Services (APST) buses within 24 hours in in Sonitpur and Biswanath district of Assam.

Information received from the sources said that two APST long distances buses plying from Itanagar and Pasighat to Shillong in Megalaya were attacked in Sonitpur and Biswanath district of Assam on October 18 and October 19 respectively.

Sources said that APST bus number ARX-0515 which ply between Itanagar (ISBT-Lekhi) to Shillong was attacked by miscreant after crossing the Jia Bhorali bridge in Sonitpur district at 10.30 on Friday October 18. Two big stones were thrown by miscreants coming in a car from opposite direction and run away in high speed. The two stones damaged the two from light of the right side of the bus while one stone damage some fiber portion on the front side.

The driver of the vehicle said that the broken bulbs and its assembly was repaired at Shillong and could not file FIR as few passengers were in hurry to reach Shillong. The matter have been informed to the higher authority for further action. No passengers received injuries.

The vehicle was driven by Mahesh Pawan and his co driver while there was around 10 passengers from Itanagar going to Shillong on the day.

Another such incident reported within 24 hours from Biswanath district where APST Bus bearing registration No-ARX-0521 was attacked in Borgang Market area on Saturday night at around 10-10.30 PM. Miscreants attack the APST bus from both side and few window panels and glass were broken. Reportedly two passenger received injuries, one old person received injuries in his forehead who get down from the bus in Bedeti in Assam while other received injuries from the the broken glass in his feet.

Sources from Pasighat inform that such incident have made the passengers scared and appeal one all section of people to create awareness that the bus is for ferrying of passengers who so ever and the duty of the transporter is to ferry passenger from one place to other safely.

It is mention that such incident of miscreants attack on APST running bus is increasing in the area from Ghaigoan and Blaipara on the said stretch in Biswanath and Sonitpur district and there is a need of increasing patrolling by the Assam police for the safety and security of passengers and general commuters.
