Arunachal Governor felicitates best performing CDPOs

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) felicitated the best performing Child Development Project Officers (CDPO) of the State at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 30th September 2019. He also felicitated the Department of Women & Child Development, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh for successful implementation of various schemes and programmes for women and children.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the Poshan Abhiyan is of paramount significance and has to be executed with a missionary zeal. As the foot soldiers of the National Nutrition Mission, the CDPOs are the cutting edge of the programme. The success of the programme reflects the dedication of the officers.
Congratulating the officers and officials of WCD for the successful conclusion of Poshaan Maah, the Governor said that nowhere in the world there is political leadership like India today, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who cares so much for the good health of mother and child. He called upon all stakeholders to put in a concerted effort to ensure that mother and child health in the country is taken due care of.
The Governor also emphasized on awareness about nutrition including breastfeeding. Adequate and appropriate awareness on food and nutrition are the essential aspects of social healthcare, he said.
Smti Dondup Pema, Tawang, Miss Tenjin Chomu, Lumla-Zimithang, Smt Jaya Taba, Itanagar, Smt Ponung Moyong, Naharlagun, Shri Bahi Koyu, Aalo (East), Smt Bime Zirdo Mara, Likhabali, Shri Jikom Doye, Roing, Shri Pakkar Nomuk, Yingkiong, Smt Wihong Tangha, Namsai, Smt Shillakanni Namchum, Lekhang, Shri Wemkhum Khilak, Khagam and Smti Nemngam Khumhun Tanha, Bordumsa-Diyum were felicitated on the occasion.
Mrs Neelam Misra, Secretary WCD Mrs Neharika Rai, IAS, Direct WCD Smt T.P. Loyi and officials of Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh were present on the occasion.
POSHAN Abhiyaan is a multi-ministerial convergence mission with the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022. The objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan to reduce stunting in identified Districts of India with the highest malnutrition burden by improving utilization of key Anganwadi Services and improving the quality of Anganwadi Services delivery. It aims to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children.
