A girl Name Yayu (Name Changed) went to visit her maternal grandparent at Assam during her vacation.There she met one boy who was also under aged.They fell in love with each other and decided to settle down, when her parents came to know about this, they found that she is already staying with the boy at his place.Her parents had approached her many a times, but she wasn’t willing to come back. Meanwhile,the girl’s parents were getting warning from the boy’s parents to not approach her anymore.The helpless parents of the girl came to Woman helpline-181 for seeking help in getting back their minor daughter.
On receiving the case by Mrs. Rosy Taba, Member of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the WHL team immediately contacted the Child Development Project officer (CDPO) of Assam for immediate intervention. At the same day the girl was rescued by the CDPO along with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Assam and provided her short stay shelter at children home, in Assam. While staying at children home, the girl was provided counseling wherein, she later realized that she is still minor and should go back to her parents.
Team WHL persistently follow up any case til its completion.And finally,we could help the girl in getting back with her parents safely. later, WHL team got information from CWC Assam that the girl wants to meet her parents and wants to go back her parents. The women helpline informed her parents and handed over the girl to them.Today Miss yayu is living her normal life happily with her parents.and continuing her further studies.
