Namsai: CM Khandu inaugurates District Secretariat building

Chief Minister Pema Khandu today inaugurated the District Secretariat building of Namsai district in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Forest Parliamentary Secretary CT Mein, Planning Parliamentary Secretary Zingnu Namchoom including host of other dignitaries.
The Secretariat building on the day was decked up in flowers and balloons of all hues as the Chief Minister formally threw it opened by unveiling the inauguration slab followed by ribbon cutting ceremony.
Later addressing the local public leaders and govt officials at secretariat conference hall, the Chief Minister said it is an auspicious occasion for Namsai district. He recalled the contribution of earlier governments and former legislator of the area for the district secretariat building.
Lauding the cooperation extended by the locals, the Chief Minister said many new districts were created in recent years, but Namsai is the first to see the completion of its secretariat building.
Being potentials galore in area of agriculture, horticulture and tourism including the progressive mindset of the people here, he said the future economy of Arunachal would be led by people of eastern belt. In this endeavour, the government is also focused so as to enable development to reach all corners of the state and not only centred at the state capital, said the Chief Minister.
Emphasising for more roles to be played by Deputy Commissioner in development, he said the government has started to assign leadership roles to them. Accordingly, the Deputy Commissioners have been assigned roles with greater powers in finalising schemes and on other programmes, said the Chief Minister. Further he advised the officials present that we all are here to serve the people and must conduct accordingly.
Earlier Deputy Chief Minister said that the building will not only be a Secretariat but it will be an office of justice. He appreciated the executing agency, PWD for speedy completion of the building in a record time.
He said that the Secretariat building was given a local touch on the rooftop and all including the Chief Minister appreciated it. He informed that with the inauguration of the District Secretariat Building, the office of Deputy Commissioner will function from the new building and at the same time, Divisional Commissioner East will also start functioning from Namsai. He asked the Parliamentary Secretary cum Namsai MLA, Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Deputy Commissioner, Namsai to look in to the accommodations of Divisional Commissioner’s office and residence in the district headquarter.
Also present on the occasion were Speaker TN Thongdok, State BJP President Tapir Gao, Ministers Kamlung Mosang and Alo Libang, Paliamentary Secretaries Phosum Khimhun, PD Sona and Likha Saaya, Tourism Secretary Dr Joram Beda, DIGP (East) Apur Bitin, Namsai DC RK Sharma and SP CK Mein.
