Addressing a coordination meeting Dy Chief Minister Chowna Mein highlighted all major components of the budget and appealed to all the local legislators and Heads of the Departments to expedite growth and developmental process according to fund provision kept in the budget.
The meeting was held at DC’s chamber on Monday to discuss the various aspects of the State Budget 2017-18 and its relevance to Namsai district.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Chow Tewa Mein-Parliamentary Secretary (Forest & Environment), Chau Zingnu Namchoom- Parliamentary Secretary (Planning, Personnel & Administrative Reforms) and all Head of departments of Namsai district.
While briefing all departments/ executing agencies, Dy CM elaborated various modifications taken place in finance & planning with abolition of Plan & Non- Plan sectors and merger of the two departments of planning & finance.
He informed the house that the vision of this year budget is to ensure all round development involving all section of people. He further informed that there is no dearth of fund for development but needs for timely implementation of project with transparency.
Chaw Tewa Mein in his speech requested the Hods to be more sincere in monitoring the schemes so that benefit shall reach to the public directly. He suggested for proper infrastructure, roads, permanent solution of frequent threat of devastating flood etc in Namsai district.
Chau Zingnu Namchoom being the young and local legislator from Namsai assured to extend all assistance to make the district prosperous, beautiful and hygienic.
Deputy Commissioner Namsai R.K. Sharma highlighted on each and every budget provisions relevant to the district and requested the executing agencies/ departments concerned to ensure adherence of timeline given for planning & implementation so that the vision of the state budget could be transformed into reality in the field and to visualize the aspiration of masses.
Sharma while interacting the Hod’s has fixed a time line for seeding of Aadhaar and bank account number in all govt. sponsored schemes to enable DBT both in rural and urban areas of the district on or before 30th April 2017.
In an interaction with all Hod’s all relevant component of the budget pertaining to Namsai district including CSS, CM flagship programme were discussed.. The marathon meeting ended with vote of thanks by B. Talukdar, ADC, Namsai.
