Chowna Mein inaugurates Mount Carmel Church

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Saturday unveiled plaque and dedicated the Mount Carmel Church to the jubilant people of the Kumari Adivasi under Lekang circle. The Church was inaugurated by Provincial, South Kerela Province Reverend Dr Benjamin Elias and blessed by Bishop of Miao Diocese Rite Reverend Dr George Palliparambil in presence of august gathering.
While congratulating the people, DCM Mein asserted that the State government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu will parallelly take along every religion and tribes for its welfare, progress and development.
He hoped that the new church would spread peace in the society as peace is requisite for development and progress of the society. Church is a place of worship and a centre to reform and this place is also for inculcating the feeling of brotherhood, he added.
Speaking on demonetization, Mein informed that high value currency notes of Rs 1000/- & Rs 500/- by the Govt of India was done with a multifaceted aim for curbing black money, terrorism, counterfeit currency and corruption. He lauded the overwhelming support of the people despite facing difficulties in day to day to life for a time being for the holistic cause for a better society free from the tentacles of these evils.
He also said that “the Central Govt is focusing in the development of Arunachal now and we can witness it from the regular visits of the Union Ministers over the last few days in the state announcing developmental projects since the formation of BJP govt in the state”. He reiterated that Arunachal Economy is now open and the govt in the centre is very concern and serious about development of our state.
He further said that the state govt is prepairing a fair budget for the coming financial year for a change for betterment and added that state is changing with the adoption of innovative ideas and new technologies.
Emphasising on the less cash transaction, Mein informed that the Govt at the centre and in the state is encouraging digital transactions and moving toward for the implementation of less cash economy at the State very soon.
He informed that NABARD has consented to adopt a village in Namsai district for transforming it into complete cash less very soon. Digital Governance will be ensured in the state with 100% AADHAR with Direct Benefit Transfer including benefits under various welfare scheme..
He also said that the state govt is planning to provide an innovative budget for 2017-18 which would reflect the aspiration of the people. It would have priority for communication, Health, education, agri & allied sector, employment generation, entrepreneurship development with special focus on gender budgeting for women empowerment.
He also highlighted about various developmental activities taken up by the Central Govt and the state government.
Provincial, South Kerela Province Reverend Dr Benjamin Elias, Bishop of Miao Diocese Rite Reverend Dr George Palliparambil and Order of Discalced Carmelite (OCD) Parish Priest of Mount Carmel Church Kumari Father Jaison also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Parish Priest of Mount Carmel Church Kumari Father Jaison was felicitated by DCM Chowna Mein and Bishop of Miao Diocese Rite Reverend Dr George Palliparambil.
Bishop of Miao Diocese Rite Reverend Dr George Palliparambil has laid the foundation stone of the Mouny Carmel church on 16thJanuary 2013. The congregation of father residing in the church is from Order of Discalced Carmelite (OCD) and this church is the head church of 8 villages in Lekang circle where more than 400 familes come to offer their prayers.
Cultural presentation by students of Mount Carmel School and Ferrando School and dance by youth of Kumari village added colour to the function.
