Namsai’s NGOs Raised Burning Issues before Dy CM Chowna Mein
Namsai
The heads of all the NGOs, youth and the students’ organisations under the banner of United Forum called on the Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, at his private residence, Namsai today and submitted a memorandum regarding the burning problem of employment and its related issues of Namsai District.
The chairman of the newly formed Joint Action Committee on Employment Generation in Namsai District, JACEOGIND, Chau Arina Manpoong, explained the issues in detail and expressed the resentment of the local natives on illegal appointments and posting of C&D grades employees allegedly going on in Namsai District.
Citing it against the interest of the indigenous natives and in contrary to the existing rules and decisions of the government, the united forum sought the immediate intervention of the DCM and the MLAs of Chongkam and Namsai to stop all the illegal appointments in the C&D grades within Namsai District forthwith.
It may be mentioned that JACEOGIND had, earlier, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Pema Khandu in this regard. Besides, other issues confronting the society were also discussed. The General Secretary, TKSC, Chau Meokhun Mongmaw, had recalled and appraised the DCM about the earlier grievances and public memorandum submitted by the various NGOs to the authorities concerned.
The team, in general, expressed displeasure and was critical of the District authorities, particularly the incumbent Deputy Commissioner, for their non cooperative, irresponsive and lackadaisical attitudes towards the popular demands and voice of the common public. It said that the gentle approach of the organisations should not be misread by the authorities in the helm of the affairs and construed it as weakness of the communities.
The team further observed that about three years time had passed but still the administration has failed to call even a joint meeting of the HoDs, NGOs and all the stakeholders of the District to discuss for the all round development of the newly created District and to make Namsai a planed and beautiful District Headquarter. The team requested the Dy CM to call such meeting with his initiative at the earliest.
The Dy CM, had a patient hearing and asked the forum to submit all the points and issues in detail and assured the team to look into them and take necessary action with the appropriate authorities and the government. He, advised the educated and unemployed youth to keep themselves informed of the government advertisements for job and other provsions less they miss the bus. He, further, asked the youth to remain vigil on illegal appointments and bring it to his notice.
The team will also call on the MLAs of Namsai and Chongkham shortly to appraise them of the issues for similar initiatives form their end.
