Japanese Delegation Visits Kaziranga University

Kaziranga University was honoured to host a high-level delegation from Japan who visited the University campus on the 29th of March 2017. This delegation consisted of members from the India Foundation, an independent research centre focused on understanding contemporary India and the issues, challenges and opportunities of the Indian polity. The visiting delegates will be participating in a workshop on India-Japan Cooperation, concentrating on the economic development of the North-East region.

During the visit, the delegates were overwhelmed with the excellent academic facilities of Kaziranga University and complimented the Khetan family for creating such a marvel in the North-East. The Honourable Pro-Chancellor of Kaziranga University, Shri Basant Khetan ji had an interactive discussion with the eminent Hideki Asari, Minister (Political Affairs), Embassy of Japan in India, for exploring the possibilities of  KU´s collaboration with Japanese counterparts.

This delegation included several other distinguished individuals, such as Shakti Sinha (Director, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library), Anand Kumar (MD, NHIDCL), Rajat Kathuria (Director & CE, ICRIER), Hidenobu Fujiwara (Country Officer, JICA, India) and Shinichi Nakabayashi (Director, ADBI) among many others.
