Longding
In a routine operation by the Khonsa battalion of Indian Army, two hardcore cadres of National Socialist Council of Nagalim (IM) were neutralized near Sonya Noksa village, Longding district in Arunchal Pradesh late last night.
Acting on intelligence input regarding movement of cadres between Longding and Khonsa, the security forces launched an area domination patrol in vicinity of the said village on Wednesday night, Kohima based defence spokesperson Col. Chiranjit Konwar said in a statement.
In subsequent search operation launched in the early morning today, the security forces found the hardcore cadres in combat dress who had succumbed to bullet injuries.
One AK47 rifle, one pistol and other incriminating evidence were also recovered from the spot.
Search operation is still on. Identity of the militants yet to be ascertained.
