“Since academic session 2006-07 till 2015-16, more than five hundred scholars have completed their Master and more than two thousand in graduation with Hindi. Likewise, this year alone, more than 300 students shall graduate with Hindi Honours,’ added Takam Sonia while emphasizing that these young scholars are not able to find suitable livelihood opportunity because of entry barrier created in the form of “English as the only language in examinations”. Highlighting the challenges, he stated that all the job related examinations are conducted in English language alone thereby posing challenge for the Hindi scholars.
“Even Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) conducts all its written examinations in only English language; this deters the Hindi scholars from writing any of the examination. This deprivation alone has been cause of unemployment amongst Hindi scholars,’ claims Takam Sonia while exhorting the BJP President Tapir Gao and Chief Minister Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Mein and CS Gamlin to consider Hindi as medium of writing all examinations.
Terming “English only” as medium of examination as unfortunate in a state that pride itself in using Hindi as official working language, Takam urged for creation of Hindi language officer in all the departments in near future.
“We compliment and thank Khandu led government for hearing our prayers and for supporting Hindi scholars,’ Takam added.
