Shillong-BSF Celebrates 71st Independence Day

Border Security Force Frontier Headquarter, Meghalaya celebrated 71st Independence Day at Umpling & Mawpat Campuses which started with the `Flag Hoisting’ by Dr Sabu A Joseph, DIG/PSO of Meghalaya Frontier and followed by various programmes at Ward’s Lake, Shillong.
The Sentinels of border organised various programmes to interface with the local people at the famous lake in the heart of the city. The BSF dog squad demonstrated its skills in sniffing and tracking.
A display of arms was also organised to make people familiar with the armoury of the border guards. A photo gallery and documentary on BSF were also shown to the visitors.
The BSF Jazz and Brass bands played many melodious tunes and songs on the bank of the lake and entertained the crowd. The listeners praised the patriotic songs sung by the artists of Border Security Force. Despite the rainy weather, people in huge numbers enjoyed the various programmes organised by Border Security Force.
BSF Senior Secondary School also celebrated Independence Day by organising beautiful cultural programmes. The BSF School Children and families of BSF Jawans also witnessed the above event. Dr Sabu A Joseph conveyed his greeting to all the member of the Force and their families.
