It is said in the viral message that Ringing Bell is the only company which sold a smartphone ‘Smart 101’ for Rs 2,999 and customers could not even get the confirmation after the amount paid online
Investigation also revealed that phone was sold online. While searching online, there were large number of customers found who still are waiting for phone’s delivery and registering their online complain

The company, set up five months ago by Amity University graduate Mohit Kumar Goel, launched the device recently. It went up for sale tomorrow morning at 6am but given the huge interest in the ultra-low cost smartphone, the company’s website crashed
After hogging limelight as the world’s cheapest smartphone, the-Rs 251 phone is now in the midst of a controversy with analysts alleging that its maker Ringing Bells has merely rebranded a device by its rival, Adcom.
The company, set up five months ago by Amity University graduate Mohit Kumar Goel, launched the device yesterday. It went up for sale on February 18 at 6 am but given the huge interest in the ultra-low cost smartphone, the company’s website crashed.
Indian Cellular Association(ICA) has written to Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad requesting him to get into depth of the issue, saying the price could not be below Rs 3,500 even after a subsidized sale. Ringing Bells, on its part, said the manufacturing cost of the phone is about Rs 2,500, which will be recovered through a series of measures like economies of scale, innovative marketing, reduction in duties and creating an e-commerce marketplace
