Nyishi Ethnic students union (NESA) today carried out protest rally against the announcement of economic blockade by several organisation in Lekang in connection for granting of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issue and demanding immediate roll back on the statement made by Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein as new year gift.
Hundreds of members and supporters holding banner, leaflet, cut out, posters shouting slogans against Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers for their comment and statement for grant of PRC to several Non-APST communities residing in the area.
Addressing the rally NESA President Biri Chatum said that if someone even wanted to carry out procession and rally in state capital we need to first obtain permission from district administration. Some time district administration not give the permission and even imposed the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 2014 (APUAPA) then why it is not done there in Lekang and Namsai, it may be lack of efficiently among the district administration of Namsai district. Therefore present Deputy Commissioner of Namsai should be transfer immediately, demanded Biri Chatum.

He said that statement made by Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have been deliberately trying to create misunderstanding with the tribal’s and non tribal’s living in state but the Non-APST community there should understand that we will not allow to the government to issue PRC to them.
He warned all those who are instigating and igniting the PRC issue including former Minister and lekang assembly constituency contestant Bida Taku and condemn his action against the interest of the indigenous tribal people of state.
Chatum also threatened for hunger strike in the state capital against the PRC issue .
