Arunachal: Army conducts Veterans rally, defence pension adalats at Bomdila

A Veterans ( Ex- Serviceman) Rally followed by defence pension adalats aimed at rejuvenating the ties between the Serving and the retired was organised on behalf of the Indian Army by 9th Kumaon Regiment under the aegis of Hq 351 Inf bde of the Ball of fire Division on 18th March 2018 at Bomdila.

Major General ( GOC)  RK Jha graced the events as Chief Guest in presence of DC west kameng District Dr. Sonal Swaroop, SP west kameng District PN Khrimey, Brigadier Shailendra Singh,  Commanding officer 9th Kumaon Regiment Col. P Ramesh Singh, 283 numbers of ( Veterans, widows,  NOKs, family and children), President west kameng District Ex- Serviceman Association Ex Subedar Rinchin Khandu, Gen. Secy West kameng District Ex Serviceman Tsering Dorjee and other army men and civilians.

Major General ( GOC)  RK Jha on his address brought out that welfare of Gaurav senanies has been a priority task of the Indian Army and emphasised on army’s resolve to ensure that the Veterans are looked after well, further he said. One of the important highlight of the rally was felicitation of Veer Naris and next of kins of martyrs.

Various stalls were established during the rally to assist them and facilitate general awareness on exciting central and state government schemes, medical camp, pension resolution cell, ECHS counter, station Hq counter, aadhar card counter,  Horticulture, agriculture, DRDO, FPO,  career guidance, CSD facilitates and banking facilities.

A grand cultural programme was organized, during the rally, medical check up was organised and medicine were distributed to 182 male and female.veterans were apprised of resettlement, second employment avenues and assistance for re-employment facilitated by army welfare placement organisation and were also made aware of DIAV portal. The rally was witnessed huge response from the Veterans community hailing from West kameng, East kameng and Tawang District.
