Addressing the audience, Dr Prasun Maiti, Chief Medical Officer (SG) of the Frontier emphasized that awareness regarding the risk factors for kidney disease was the key to combat it. Dr Azam, Medical Officer of NDRF who also spoke on the occasion, informed the audience that kidney related diseases were silent killers, which had the potential to effect quality of life. He suggested various ways and means to reduce the risk of kidney diseases.
Prof Dr. S Dutta, MD of GMCH, addressing the audience threw light on various diseases related to the liver and made them aware about the necessary precautions to be adopted to have a safe and healthy liver disease free life.
Later, the blood samples of willing persons were collected and examined by the hospital staff for any such diseases. Many BSF, NDRF personnel and their families availed this facility and benefitted from the program.
