Drinking Water Supply disrupted in Itanagar

The local residents of the township, several hospitals, school, colleges and government institutions have been facing hard due to lack of drinking water

Half of the capital city of Itanagar is not receiving drinking water supply by PHED pipeline since last two days. The water supply disrupted due to damages caused by construction of road side drain between Gohpur Tinali ( NH-415) and Ganaga Lake.
The local residents of the township, several hospitals, school, colleges and government institutions have been facing hard due to lack of drinking water.
the other source of waters like, fountains, ponds around the city are either damaged due to construction of road, widening of NH415, destruction by landslide and other reason. denizens have no option and totally depend on PHED.

PHED Assistant Engineer Debia Padang inform that due to construction of road side drain a portion of supply pipeline was damaged day before yesterday which was repaired.
But few more portion of 400 mm and 200 mm diameter pipeline which supply water to Mowb-II intake reservoir coming from the Water treatment plant near Poma damaged again and would need man and machine to repair.
Complete Restoration work would take atleast two days time, Padang said.
Padang also appeal the denizens to have patience and bear with the inconveniences .
