Arunachal: Chowna Mein attended Pre Budget Meeting

Deputy Chief Minister  Chowna Mein attended the Pre Budget Meeting chaired by the Union Finance Minister,  Arun Jaitley on Thursday at New Delhi.

The pre-budget meeting was convened by the Union FM to discuss the broad outline of the union budget and to understand the expectations and needs of states which was attended by Finance Ministers of all the states.

Mein strongly presented the needs of Arunachal Pradesh and submitted a detail memorandum to the Union FM to apprise him of the requirements and issues of the Frontier State.

In his address to the meeting, DCM laid stress on timely release of state’s share of central taxes, the need to finance the rejuvenation of our ageing infrastructure.

He  apprised the August gathering and the union FM that funds are required by the state to finance maintenance of PMGSY roads, developing Smart Cities and funding of smart city ratio from 50:50 to 90:10 for the State, provide connectivity to the border areas specially near China border, maintenance of Frontier highways and problem facing TCL like insurgency & drug trafficking.

The Union FM had taken note of the points raised by the DCM well and has taken the demands of Arunachal Pradesh under active consideration.

Mein was accompanied by Development Commissioner, Ashish Kundra and Special Secretary of Tax & Excise, Anirudh Saran Singh.
