While urging the players to maintained sportsmanship spirit, Taga said that participation is more important than victory. He also advice the youths to stay away from the bad habits like alcohol and drugs for a healthy mind and body. Earlier Organising Chairman Tahong Mibang give a brief presentation of the tournament and submitted one point memorandum to Hon’ble Minister for Construction of Community cum Cultural Hall at Pessing. Otam Takoh Chairman of Koze Zanggo Society also presented a memento to Chief Guest.
The inaugural match was played between defending champion Pangkeng Youth Club A team and Young Star FC, Pessing. The final match of the fortnight tournament will be played on 1st September next on the eve of Solung Festival where the winner and runner of the tournament will be awarded with cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- and Rs.30,000/- respectively and other individuals prizes with a trophy and medals.
