BSF Celebrates 68th Republic Day in Baraka Valley

Mizoram & Cachar Frontier, BSF in Masimpur campus celebrated “68th Republic Day” amidst great pomp and show. The National flag was hosted solemnly by N S Jamwal, Inspector General in the presence of all ranks of BSF. The BSF band played the national anthem tune and surcharged the atmosphere with patriotism. In his scintillating speech, Inspector General congratulated all the border men & their families on the auspicious day and paid tributes to all the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the sake of unity and integrity of the country. He also congratulated the BSF medal winners on this auspicious occasion.
Thereafter, sweets were distributed among the troops, their families and to patients admitted in BSF hospital.
In the forenoon, a customary get together was organized at the BSF Officers’ Institute, Masimpur, in which serving and retired Subordinate Officers of BSF were invited and shared light moments. Later in the evening, BSF for the very first time celebrated the Republic Day Function At Integrated Check Post, Sutarkandi, Karimganj (Assam) with border population followed by the ‘Retreat Ceremony’ amidst Spectacular band display, patriotic songs and skit by school children dressed in tri colour attire. The function was graced by Inspector General BSF M & C Frontier and other senior officers of BSF. Invited civil dignitaries from district administration and Police department also witnessed the function, which was appreciated by one and all. The programme was first of its kind and a successful attempt on the part of BSF to instill patriotism amongst the young generation, residing in remote border areas.
