The Governor exhorted the assembly to strengthen the spirit of unity and integrity amongst the people of the State and the country. He said that for strong global political importance, it is the duty of every citizen to maintain the unity and integrity passed down to the present generation by the founding leaders of Indian Freedom struggle particularly Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
To reinforce the commitment of the people, Governor administrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge. The officers and officials pledged to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the Nation and also strive hard to spread the message of National Unity among our fellow countrymen. They also took the pledge in the spirit of unification of the country which was made possible by the vision and actions of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. They resolved to make their own contribution to ensure the internal security of India.
The Governor led the Rashtriya Ekta March, accompanied by Mrs Neelam Misra, officers and officials of Governor Secretariat, staff from various departments attached to Raj Bhavan and personnel of Arunachal Pradesh Police and Indo Tibetan Border Police. The Ekta March with patriotic songs concluded with the slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
