A Police Van carrying three juvenile meet with a fatal accident near Silapathar in Dhemaji district of Assam in which two died on spot while four police personnel and two juvenile received grievous injuries of which two are stated to be critical.
Addressing the media Capital SP M Harsha Vardhan who visited the victims who were brought from the spot to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS) this afternoon said that the Police Van (Tata Sumo) bearing registration No- AR 01 G 5211 was on duty to Pasighat.
Five police personnel was in the said vehicle who were deputed on duty and carrying three juvenile who has been remanded to 14 days in juvenile home at Pasighat by Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board Yupia in connection with Naharlagun PS case 158/18.
The police personnel’s namely head constable Bhaikon Rajhbonsi, Ct. Pisa Tapam, Ct. Taba Tangum and Ct. Nada Hailyang of Naharlagun Police Station while the vehicle was driven by driver Ct (D) Anil HIba meet with an accident and a juvenile Tadar Taki and the vehicle of the driver Ct. Anil HIba died on spot.

All remaining police personnel received grievous injuries of which two are stated to be critical. One critical Nada Hailyang have been brought to TRIMS while other critical injured H/C Bhaikon Rajhbonsi is under treatment in Assam. The remaining injured personnel Pisa Tapam and Taba Tangum are also brought to TRIHMS and are under treatment.
He said that the two remaining juvenile who were medically checked at Pasighat also brought to Naharalgun for medical treatment are stated to be safe.
He said that the vehicle left for Pasighat at around 4.30 AM morning and accident occurred at around 7.30 when a Tata Magic entered through a sub way in speed and due to which the police van rolled like a turtle around four times.
OC PS Naharlagun N Riba have been deputed to oversee all formalities there in Dhemaji and at Pasighat. the family members of all the persons have been informed accordingly. The inquest proceeding were made by the Magistrate at Dhemaji and the body of Late Anil HIba have been sent by police vehicle to Mechuka in Siyomi district for conducting last rite while the body of Late Tadar Taki is being brought to Naharlagun.
Vardhan said that he have meet the victims and spoken to doctor also and requested the SP to provide best treatment and would also arrange further treatment in case they are referred for better treatment outside state. SP added.
