Teacher’s day celebrated at Tawang
Sincere and dedicated teachers ensures secured and disciplined future citizens, says Tsering Tashi, MLA, Tawang.

On the occasion of Teacher’s day the teaching fraternity of Tawang were felicitated by Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang, at Kalawangpo convention hall Tawang. Like every year similar felicitation programme to all the teachers were conducted at Lumla for teachers of Lumla Sub division by Jambey Tashi, MLA Lumla, and by family members of Chief Minister Pema Khandu at Jang for the teachers of Jang sub division.
At Tawang headquarters the programme began with paying floral tribute to the portrait of Dr.S. Radhakrishnan and by observing obituary to one of the Senior teacher late Pema Yeshi Gyamo, who died recently.
Tsering Tashi , MLA Tawang in his address to the teachers said, “ there is no any other profession for which a particular day is dedicated and where all section of society is involved in celebration, to support the cause of teachers is our responsibility.
Sincere and dedicated teachers ensures secured and disciplined future citizens. Today I will not discuss about the role and responsibilities of teachers, because it is you teachers who teaches us about our role and responsibilities”.
Tashi further said that I will discuss the problems being faced by teachers with Chief Minister and assured for construction of a guest house for teachers in Tawang Headquarters.
Earlier Tashi felicitated the two teachers Lobsang Wangmu TGT, and Tashi Neema PRT for being selected for state awards and then MLA Tawang felicitated all the teachers present with Khada, and mementos before inviting all the teachers for lunch at Circuit house.
Addressing the teachers as most respected and paying his tribute to Dr.S.Radhakrishnan, Sang Phuntsok DC Tawang said, “ the way we celebrate teachers day in such a grand way itself shows that our Chief Minister and MLAs are seriously and sincerely concerned for education”. Teaching is one of the most noble profession and if there is no criminals in society, credit must be given to teachers he added.
Besides Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang, as the chief host, Sang Phuntsok , DC Tawang , Brigadier Zubin Bhatnagar Commander 190 mtn Brigade, Rajesh Thakur Commandant 38th Bn SSB, SS Kalsi SP Tawang and other galaxy of officers and public leaders were present on the occasion to give their best wishes to the teachers.
Brig Zubin Bhatnagar, Commandant Rajesh Thakur, Dr. Yeshi Gyaltsen, Principal DKGC Tawang and Dr. Wangdi Lama DMO VP Monpa Mimang Tshogpa,Tawang also spoke on the occasion.
