Itanagar
More than 2000 members of the Buddhist community in Itanagar capital complex and other areas took blessings from the 10th Lhagyalri Rincpoche (Tenzin Wangchen) during the ‘Rinpoche Darshan’, which was organised under the initiative of the Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS), at the Itanagar Gompa on Sunday.
Lhagyalri Rincpoche Tenzin Wangchen is believed to be the re-incarnation of the 9th Lhagyalri Rincpoche Thuptan Jigmey.
Rinpoche Jigmey, who was from Dirang and was the Rinpoche of the Lhagyala Monastery in Morshing village, Kalaktang, passed away in the year 2013 at the age of 67.
The 10th Lhagyalri Rinpoche Wangchen was identified as the 10th re-incarnation of Rinpoche Jigmey somewhere in between August and September 2017.
Rinpoche Wangchen was born to Ngawang Dondup and Sonam Dorma of Khasar Padum village, Janskhar, in Ladakh, on 27 March 2015. He is youngest among his siblings. People of Buddhist community flock to get blessing from him even if he is 3 and half year old.
The event’s chairman Trashi Wangdi informed that Rinpoche Wangchen, was in Kalaktang for last six to seven months and on the request of the IBCS, the 3 and half year old Rinpoche was brought to Itanagar as the people wanted to see him and get blessing specially for those from Tuting, Mechuka and others including capital complex. His hair cutting ceremony was done by His holiness at Dharamsala.
Wangdi added that from Itanagar he would go back to Kalaktang and after staying there for another one month he would then go to Dharamsala for formal education and training.
IBCS Secretary said that we were expecting that people from capital complex may be around 500-1000 but there is a huge rush and it is more than 2000 and hope that no body might have face any difficulty here and all arrangement were made during the day long programme.
