Addl DG BSF, Eastern Command Visited Barak Valley

Shri Ramesh Prasad Singh, IPS, Addl DG BSF, HQrs (Eastern Command) visited HQ BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier ( Barak Valley ) on 02nd to 04th Feb 2016. He was received by Shri D K Upadhyaya, IG BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier along with other senior officers of the Frontier and a guard of Honour was presented.
He was briefed by Shri D K Upadhyaya, IG, M&C Ftr regarding operational/administrative issues.
Shri Satish Budakoti, DIG, Spokesperson, Frontier Headquarter Mizoram & Cachar intimated that Shri Ramesh Prasad Singh, IPS, is a 84 batch IPS Officer of Odisha cadre who took over the charge of Addl Director General HQ Spl DG (Eastern Command) Kolkata of the elite Force on 15 Jan 2015. He has been decorated with Police Medal for Meritorious Service, President Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Governor’s medal of Govt of Odisha.
During his visit, Shri Ramesh Prasad Singh, IPS, Addl DG BSF held a Sainik Sammelan and expounded about the benefits of dieting, physical exercises and regular drills on weapon handling and thereafter interacted with officers and troops during tea. He visited border out post accompanied by Shri D K Upadhyaya, Inspector General and other senior officers.
He appreciated the hard work done by the troops in maintaining a very clean campus and shown deep satisfaction at the ops achievements. He further mentioned that BSF is doing a commendable job in effectively guarding the international border and also taking up several welfare measures for overall improvement of the Force.
