World Diabetes Day Observed a BSF Guwahati Frontier

World Diabetes Day was observed by Border Security Force, Guwahati Frontier on 15th Nov 2016, at BSF Campus, Patgaon.
During the programme, Dr Prasun Maiti, CMO (SG) and other doctors educated the audience comprising of Officers, Sub-Ordinate Officers and Other Ranks of BSF and NDRF alongwith their families.
Addressing the audience, Dr Prasun Maiti, CMO (SG), Patgaon highlighted that Diabetes comprise of complex groups of diseases which had variety of causes. People with diabetes have high level of glucose in which is also called high blood sugar or hyperglycemia.
The only prevention for a diabetic person is to maintain his body weight by maintaining a strict diet control and physical activity. He also said that diabetes could not cured. He emphasized that special attention should be given to exercise, physical activity and stress management to help patients adapt with the challenges of day-to-day diabetes management.
Similar awareness programmes were also conducted in the Battalions and Sector Headquarters of Guwahati Frontier at Dhubri, Falakata & Cooch Behar.
