Namsai- Portable Water, Medicines Distributed Among Flood Affected People

The Officials and Staff of the Public Health Engineering Department Namsai with coordination of 186BN CRPF today distributed potable water and other necessary chemicals like chlorine tablets and alum to flood affected people of Mahadevpur I & IV.
It must be noted that Several houses in the area were affected following heavy downpour in recent days which has submerged most of the water sources.
PHED assistant engineer B. Khamyang said the department has started providing potable water with help of CRPF water tanker and chemicals to relief camps opened for the flood affected people since yesterday. The chemicals will help the people in treating water so as to disinfect the flood water from bacteria, he said.
Stating that the steps are being initiated under the watch of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, MLA Namsai Chow Zingnu Namchoom and DC R.K.Sharma, he said that department will continue to provide all possible help to the flood affected people.
