The Combined Annual Training camp for NCC cadets was organised by 1 AP BN NCC at Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic, Itanagar from 01 Jan 2018. Cadets from all over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam came from far flung laces like Aalo, Ziro, Bilat, Pasighat, Tawang, Bomdila, Dhemaji, Tezpur, Sagalee and Palin to attend the camp. Cadets from institutes of capital complex also participated in the camp.
The camp was conducted with an aim to develop character, Camaraderie, discipline, leadership, inculcate leadership qualities, planning and organizational skills through various activities which teach team spirit. Apart from firing, Drill, Swatch Bharat etc a special Dental check-up camp was also conducted for the first time by Maj (Dr) Suprita Chandel of Project Arunank for all 406 cadets. NDFR also conducted a live demonstration of search and rescue of causalities in case of disasters, which was much appreciated by the cadets.
One of the Cadets who came from Tawang told Arunachal24 that the camp was one of the best she had attended so far. The day in the camp starts with PT/Drill or other group activities involving a number of Cadets. Special attention is paid to cleanliness and hygiene. Lectures and classes on various social issues are also taken by instructors and visiting experts.
The Camp culminated in a cultural extravaganza in which Dr AK Tripathy, Principal RGGP, Itanagar was the chief guest who also felicitated the cadets by giving away the prizes for Excelling in various activities during the Camp.
Principal RGGP Dr Tripathy, while addressing the cadets said that NCC not only builds personality of Cadets, it also inculcates habits of cleanliness, discipline, and team spirit there by making them better Citizens of the country.
Camp Commandant Lt Col N K Bishnoi SM, Dy camp commandant Lt. Col Anup Awasthi, Camp Adjutant Palvinder Singh, Senior cyber security consultant Abhijit tripathy among others were present on the occasion.
