Police personnel are busy in pouring and draining water from Police Station instead of performing normal duty. They are compelled to do so to safeguard the documents and other important record said SP Tumme Amo
It is a matter of great concern that the Doimukh Police Station which is one of the oldest police station of the district constructed during 1981 is severely threatened not by militant, terrorist but the monsoon rain and drain water of the Market area.
The police personnel posted at Doimukh are quite uncomfortable in performing their day to day duty related to the law and order and other official duty and even their personal works owning to the Police Station Campus filled with the rain and drainage water for last many days but the administration is in deep slumber while personnel are busy in draining water from the Police Station. The bachelor barrack, WT Station, Car parking and all the office related to the police department and PS are submerged by the rain water. Though there were no under trail prisoner/inmates in the lock up but it too was flooded with rain water.
Since the Doimukh is nearest township of the state capital but no high ranking police and civil officer of state have dare to visit the Police Station and take stock of the prevailing situation wherein the police personnel are working under tremendous pressure due to havoc created by the rain and flooded police station.
Meanwhile Papum Pare District Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo while said that it is a general phenomena and the same situation was in last year. We have already submitted proposal for construction of new Police Station , the situation was inevitable as the drainage system of the township specially in market area might have been chocked due to which the rain water and drain water have submerged the police station time and again and it would continue until immediate action is not taken up.
It is really embarrassed to mentioned that the local were fishing last year at the same police station was flooded by rain water and situation was same while the police personnel deputed there said that early morning few small fingerlings were seen.
Parliamentary Secretary (Home & Education) Pani Taram while talking to arunachal24 said that the government of Arunachal Pradesh have already approved for construction of new Police Station and the project have been sanctioned. There shall be a first class Police Station and a fund have been sanctioned
Due to change of work agency from Police Housing to RWD it was delayed, and the constructed work will be started soon.
However he assured to take up the matter of drainage with local administration for urgent redressal.
The same condition was seen in and around PWD Doimukh Division while the road from Doimukh-Kola Camp was blocked early morning after a huge tree fell down which was cleared later on by PWD.
