Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019: centre ask states to maintain L&O

Union Cabinet Secretary Government of India  Pradeep Kumar Sinha Chaired a meeting on maintaining law and order, peace & tranquillity in all the States and Union Territories in view of the introduction of-Bill in Rajya Sabha, the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019 with all the Chief Secretaries, Director Generals of Police, Principal Secretary/Commissioner (Home), today.

Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Satya Gopal, Director General of Police R.P. Upadhayay, Commissioner (Home)  A.K. Singh, and Commissioner (Law) G.S. Meena were present in the Video Conference at Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary in Civil Secretariat, here today.

Cabinet Secretary instructed that the States should take all necessary and preventive steps to maintain law and order, peace & tranquility in their respective States/UTs. He further instructed the State machineries to ensure that there is no untoward incident and law and order problem in the States and that peace should be maintained by all means.

It was further instructed to identify students from Jammu & Kashmir studying in the Universities/Colleges in various parts of the country and the District Administration should accordingly be directed to take all necessary measures for their safety and security.

Under the present circumstances all the social media users are hereby requested not to unnecessarily circulate any kind of false and frivolous news/messages/video clippings etc which may have communal colour or which may cause law and order problem.

Necessary instructions and advisory have been issued by the GOI which are being circulated to the District Authorities.

All the citizens of Arunachal Pradesh are hereby requested not to pay any heed to any kind of rumours or false news in this regard.
