Carpeting works on NH-415 began on Saturday which seems to be a trial run on the stretch of road between Itanagar-Naharlagun at Papu Nallah.
TK Engineering Managing Director Techi Tara said that as per direction of the state government we have initiative the work on war footing and it is in full progress and hope that it go smoothly.
He said that the DBM carpeting we are laying today would go slowly as per requirement in different places in the stretch of road. He further said direction to all officials and technical’s have been issued to concentrate and devote properly for a good and smooth road in the capital.
Executive Engineer (Highway) Naharlagun Division, Nirjuli Nani Tath who was also present on the occasion said that there should be a separate Highway Administrator for this schemes but the Ministry have floated tender twice and this is the third time hope that a Administrator for the said road is immediately appointed and till such time he is carrying the work apart of the his normal duty.
He said that the road project is being monitored by himself and his officers and said that today carpeting work is a trial and done at a length of around 200 mtrs to set an example for the full stretch length. He also said that the contractor have sufficient man and materials and hope that as per direction of the government the company could deliver the goods to the people of the Itanagar.
