Farmers can bring green revolution by plantation activities- Kemo Lollen

Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri, Kemo Lollen appealed the farmers to bring a green revolution by through plantation activities  which may boost up the economic value of the living of the society.

He was addressing the huge gathering of PRI members and local people of Yachuli area on the occasion of free distribution of Guava sapling distribution to small growers at a function organised by Agro Gramin Limited (AGUN)  sponsored by Green Gold, Naharlagun.

He congratulated the progressive farmer Likha Maj for his endeavour in promoting Horticulture which will a welfare measure in engaging themselves after normal agriculture period. The land of Arunachal is suitable and fertile for any types of Horticulture plantation and tropical crops which yield good harvesting.

Emphasising on organic farming Lollen said that the harvest which would be done by the farmers will be taken back on buyback system which shall be used for producing juice and other products.

He himself as a farmer has been inspired for cultivation said that the horticulture plantation will help in meeting the financial crisis due to agriculture while the importance of the land need to be taken.

He appeal one and all to plant more tree mostly fruit bearing so that the fruit serve as a purpose of up-liftment of economic condition of the farmers. He requested the organisers to spread the message in other parts of state district and state so that the system is flourished in all those area.

ZPM, Yachuli Joram Anya addressing as guest of Honour said that time have come for green revolution, we have to plant trees which bear fruit through which we can earn for livelihood. The imitative of Likha Maj is quite appreciating as the farmers will be much benefited after planting the sapling which would boost up the economic condition of the small farmers in time to come.

Likha Maj (Progressive farmer and organising committee member) in his address said that I have been planning for last two years for guava after large cardamom in the area. Large cardamom was successful and this time the guava which is being planted is of five variety, its cost ranges from 200-500 per plant is distributed to the small and local farmers of the area. So far 50000 guava saline were distributed today while 1 lakh sapling will be planted the NGO, He said that all the saline were distributed free of cost and the fruit will be taken back on buy back agreement system with the farmers. A factory is being established shortly and production will be taken place here itself while its market will be our state first and then of other parts of region and country and survey and discussion with several company have already been done.

Maj said that this is the first imitative of his firm Green gold which will establish processing unit while AGUN will be doing its best services to the people of state. The knowhow is being provided by Lucknow based Central Institute for Sub-Tropical Horticulture under Indian Council of Agriculture Research, Government of India. He further appeal the local to come forward to devote their extra time after agriculture cropping to Horticulture sector.

Ziro, Horticulture Development Officer, Taso Yalu, Green Gold MD Ashok Shah, PIstana ZPM Neelam Manga, Agriculture Officer Likha Yaja among few small farmers address the gathering.

A total of 1 lakh sapling were release to the NGO while 50000 were distributed to the small farmers of the area.

Later talking to the media person at DC Ziro said that the imitative will naturally boost of the economic condition of the people fo the area and he have directed the Horticulture deptt technical’s to support the imitative to the small farmers. ON other hand LIkha Maj have appeal the state government and central government to support his imitative in making green revolutin to the area which shall uplift the economic condition of the people of the area in time to come.
