Yingkiong
A huge public rally was organised on Wednesday morning at Yinkiong town in Upper Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh to protest against transfer of rape accused from Yingkiong (Upper Siang district) to Aalo (West Siang).
Public also vandalized Govt. properties & burn tyres on the middle of the road to vent out their anger. They had gherao both DC & Police station and demanded that accused must be brought back to Yingkiong for the justice. Presently, situation in Yingkiong town is extremely tense.
It’s to be mentioned here that rape accused of 6 year old girl was shifted from Yingkiong on 19/02/2018 night . Earlier, Police station of Yingkiong was vandalized by public on 20/02/2018.
The Yingkiong Police Station was vandalized on Tuesday and a Police Gypsy burnt in the middle of General Ground Yingkiong by the irate citizens. .
Meanwhile the Yingkiong has completely shut down following the bandh called by the citizens as protest against style of handling the incident by the concern authorities.
About the Incident
A 5 year old girl child was raped by her own teacher on 17.02.2018 at Saint Thomas private school at Yingkiong.
On 19.02.2018, the girl child reported to her mother of stomach pain and vomitting tendency. On further Enquiry by mother, the child told the mother about sexual assault by her teacher.
The mother straight went to police station and inform the relatives.
Immediately 3 relative of the girl child rushed to Saint Thomas private school and caught the accused and handed over to police.
